8th Annual Kenya Run for Water – A Huge Success!
A BIG Thank You
Another Annual Kenya Run for Water has come and gone. And though we’re sad to see it all over for 2015, we couldn’t be happier with the results!
With over 100 runners registered for this year’s event, we knew we’d have a morning buzzing with record-high energy and a park filled with excited people taking to the trails of Emily Murphy. Past participants warmly received the traditional 5km route toward Hawrelak Park, while new registrants graced the trail with nothing short of everything they had. Our new 10km trail that started toward Kinsmen Park, though hilly and challenging, was a hit for those stellar runners who chose to brave the long route. Our 2nd year of the “raindrop” collection (a blue ribbon tied to a clothespin and gently clipped to surrounding trail foliage) was a returning favourite for those vying for the prestigious title of “Raindrop Champion”. The fast, the ambitious, and the highest-fundraising registrants enjoyed a multitude of prizes from our sponsors below. Follow us on Twitter, like us on Facebook, and check out our website to keep up to date on our project developments and news for next year’s run!
Thank you to all our runners for participating!
We had so many runners this year that we made a separate gallery to contain each runners photo. If you are looking for pictures of this years runners you can click here to see the Runners Gallery.
A sincere and heartfelt THANK YOU to all of our event partners: The Running Room, Blitz Conditioning, DJ Sean Lamb, Tim Hortons, H&W Produce, Culligan, Starbucks, Canadian Brewhouse, Panago (103 avenue and 112 street), Spasation Salon and Spa, Evoolution, River Valley Adventure Co., Edmonton Paintball Centre, Ideal Tile and Terrazzo Ltd., Zenocopy, Print Machine, Vertically Inclined and Long and McQuade.
